Clifton Comprehensive Plan

As of Fall 2019, the Clifton Comprehensive Plan is a work in progress.  It is complex and covers the full range of municipal activities and responsibilities as well as a complete and reasonably current data inventory of the community including people, assets, budget and finance, regulations, land use, education, emergency services and regional development implications.

The Select Board owns the process.  The primary authors of the plan, by default, are contractors and the Planning Board.  Anyone in the community is welcome to volunteer to be officially on the Comprehensive Planning Committee or just render their opinion. Below is a basic outline of suggested best management practices for input and general administration.

The process is fully public and includes external review by the State before a final vote by the Town at which time it becomes a guide to the Select Board and Planning Board with an expected design life of about five to ten years.
