Posted Roads

**On February 28th, 2026, the Town of Clifton will post the following roads.

Pursuant to 29A M.R.S.A SECT. 2395 and the provisions of Maine Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations Restricting Heavey Loads on Closed Ways, States: “the highway is considered Solidly frozen only when the air temperature is 32 degrees or below and no water is showing in the cracks of the road or there is less than ½” of “thaw” on the gravel surface”. Both of these conditions must be met to allow loads in excess of 23,000 pounds.
